The Vicon was designed through feedback and testing with a small group of active duty special forces over the course of three years. During that time we worked closely with our partners to develop a tactical field knife that fit their demanding needs in the field. As part of the development process, prototypes were deployed in different parts of the world to validate the design and materials. During deployment these blades climbed to over ten thousand feet for free fall jumps, dove to the depths of the ocean on saltwater dives, were put to the test in hand to hand combat training, and and were trusted during genuine survival situations in various remote locations around the world. We put the Vicon through years of vigorous testing to prove it won’t fail you when you need it most. This field knife enhances your capabilities wherever you are in the field.
Its name, Vicon, is derived from a combination of the words "victory" and "distinction" in honor of the brave men who helped us develop this design in service to our country.
The knife needed to withstand extended exposure to salt water and regular hard use. CPM MagnaCut, was chosen for its extreme corrosion resistance, high toughness and exceptional edge retention.
The two-tone blade finish looks sharp, increases corrosion resistance and helps hide blade wear.
The Vicon ships with a precision-molded, modular, ambidextrous Kydex sheath system for secure, flexible carry.
Key sheath system features:
• Retention screw system for adjusting draw weight
• Slots and eyelets for flexible attachment solutions
• Removable kydex offset drop plate prevents the knife from carrying too high and features a 9 hole pattern with 3/4" hole spacing along with two additional strap slots for universal carry attachment compatibility.
• Removable kydex belt loop accomidates vertical or scout carry.
The Vicon and its sheath are made in the USA and backed by our Carry No Cares transferable lifetime warranty.

I served in the Navy, but was no SEAL. For me there was no need for a coating to prevent glare. MagnaCut is very resilient against the elements and I wanted to enjoy the two toned steel. The stonewash contrasting to the semi polished blade and swedge is beautiful. It could also make for a good signal mirror in an emergency.
It’s clear that REIFF Knives holds true to “you get what you pay for”. What you see is exactly what you get. The lack of a flared thumbramp on the sheath would be my only nitpick out of everything.
The fit and finish of the knife is flawless and perfectly even. The swedge has enough of a flat to do some batoning. There’s a good 90 degree area on the spine to strike a ferro rod, forward of the positive jimping. The knife lends itself to all manners of handholds and tasks. I chose the Vicon because I prefer the guard for piercing tasks, which is beautiful and doesn’t get in the way.
Right out of the box you can tell this is a serious tool with a nice heft to it (but not clunky) that is absolutely heirloom quality. The edge is amusingly sharp, and will put a smile on your face when you test it. I’ll have to invest in a better sharpening system to do it justice.
The thickness is robust which instills confidence but doesn’t hinder cutting at all. The Micarta scales are perfectly grippy in all conditions and have no hot spots with a nice palm swell that lend themselves to any hand holds.
The sheath is also fantastic. The retention is perfect once adjusted to your preference. There is zero rattle on mine and it disappears on your belt the way it carries.
For me this is the Goldilocks knife I’d been searching for. Not cumbersome, capable of fine tasks as well as heavier use, a pommel for driving tent spikes etc, food prep, indexes beautifully and cuts like a laser.
We live in a world over saturated with choices. Always looking for the next best thing. Our ancestors found the right tool for them and carried it for a lifetime. I think this one is mine. I might have a leather bushcraft esq sheath with a ferro rod companion made for it and I’ll be carrying it for years to come.
It's almost too beautiful to use but it would be too much of a shame not to.
I am not going to pretend that I am a metallurgists or a professional knife reviewer, however I do own several high end knives, including 6 Reiff knives. All the Reiff knives I own are absolutely top notch. The fit and finish is outstanding and the material used is some of the best on the market. Furthermore, the heat treat has to be excellent, because all of my Reiff knives take a beating and keep coming back for more. Although I don't want to choose a favorite Reiff knife, because I love them all, the Vicon is one of my absolute favorites, because of the ergonomics. It feels incredible in my hands. I literally smile every time I pick it up. Also, Reiff knows how to properly sharpen knives, they are extremely sharp out of box, just asked the ER Dr that stitched up my finger this past weekend. Furthermore, a premium knife is nothing without good customer service. I have to tell you, Reiff has the best customer service I have ever received. If you have an issue they take care of it. Their warranty is unbelievable and their response time is extremely quick. I truly thank Reiffs customer service reps for being professional, diligent and extremely kind. Reiff is hands down my new favorite knife manufacture. Yes, I am a fan boy and will continue to be indefinitely. Thanks. William
I really, really enjoy this VICON. The green canvas Micarta looks great, but the star is the two-tone CPM MagnaCut blade. The grind work and contrast between the finishes look excellent and give the knife a distinctive appearance. Everything about the VICON feels purposeful and very well made. It has the size, materials, American manufacturing, and tough design I wanted, but it also has something I wasn’t expecting and it is simply too good looking for me to use. This one has become a display knife for me. I bought a very capable MagnaCut fixed blade and ended up with something I enjoy just looking at. The two-tone blade really makes this version of the VICON. One of my favorite fixed blades in my collection. Money well spent.
