  • The F4 is our general purpose bushcraft style survival knife. Its 4" blade is robust enough to withstand the toughest survival situations, yet refined enough to breeze through any bushcraft task. Constructed from 5/32" thick CPM®3V high-alloy steel, these knives are exceptionally durable. The spine will rain sparks from a ferro rod or scrape cedar bark for tinder. The sturdy full tang is skeletonized to reduce the overall weight of the knife, making the F4 an ideal carry companion in the field or around town. You'll find the ergonomic 5" handle has no hotspots, providing a seamless interface between your hand and the tool. Whether you're crafting a bow drill or field dressing an elk, the F4 will get the job done right.

Practical design and flawless execution

I have used my F4 quite a bit and shown it off all over the country at bladeshow and iv8888 machine gun shoots and some people just look at it and their first impression is "its a knife"- but almost ANYONE who actually holds it sees what the F4, and Reiff, is all about.
The shape of the handle, the balance, and the materials used tell a story of a detail oriented company that is unwilling to cut ANY corners.

The knife rides easy on the belt, melts into the hand, and is ready for ANYTHING.

At first I was like, "meh"

I really was. I felt like I had bought into the social media thirst trap hype and now I was stuck with this thing. It wasn't like I could return it, there was nothing wrong with it (even the the CEO Stu said send it back and I'll refund your money!!!) So with a negative outlook and a disgruntled attitude I went on a big camping trip. I took the knife and myself and a few friends of like mind passed the knife around. Yes we did all the obligatory "bushcraft" stuff with it, but we went way into left field and really started to be stupid, like Cold Steel video stupid.
Wow.
Not only did it do everything you would except it to do but it did it pretty damn well. As for the "other" stuff, it took all the abuse and asked for more. The craziest thing- it was still slicing paper and popping off hairs! So for the rest of the trip I started treating it with the respect it had EARNED and really came to like it and enjoyed using it as my EDC for the rest of the trip. I will say that I would prefer a sharper spine, but it throws sparks just fine. The leather sheath is a standard JRE dangler, sturdy, well-made but nothing to write home about. Now, here is the best thing about the knife-- the company! Wow Stu Shank really does care about customer service, feedback, input, and honestly whatever else you want to talk about. Some people may gripe about the price but this is the way I look at it now: not only are you investing in an heirloom quality tool, you are investing into the company itself and an American company at that! I will most definitely be purchasing either an F6 or the upcoming F3 here real soon!

My new favorite knife

I love this knife. It fits my hand perfect and is well balanced. It’s easy to see and feel the quality. It holds and edge with lots of abuse. If your considering this knife get it. You will not be disappointed.
